This past weekend there was Jennfest out here in Tallahassee. It was fun. I got there really late the first night and caught the last band that night which was Me and the Devil. My brother who was in town really enjoyed it, and as did I, as usual. I hung out for a little bit then went home. It was a long drive, took me about an hour to get out there and find the place.
I woke up the next morning and got ready to go back out there to play that afternoon. I showed up and had a couple beers and it was our turn to play. The set was short because Mike had to rush to work after we played. I think it was a well-played set. People liked it and I had fun.
I hung out the rest of the day watching bands and hanging out with a bunch of cool fucking people. I saw Friends of Friends, Jaspers did an acoustic set, Cory did a solo Curious Animals set, Woset, Holiday Shores, and of course Power Plant. Power Plant rocked that shit. They defintely played an awesome set and everyone was just partying too hard. Now i'm back at my empty apartment packing to go back to Miami. I'll be there until Friday or Saturday in time for a show and tour.
We went in this morning at like 7 to record the guitar and vocal tracks for our songs. We should have a tape out in time for tour. Was up at 6 this morning and got everything finished by noon. Now time for the girlie and to mentally prepare myself for the shitty drive I have ahead of me tomorrow. Please, wish me luck.

Tallahassee, FL
I am back in town. We played here last night and it was easily the best show all weekend. The show in Gainesville wasn't horrible though. Saw a friend I hadn't seen in a while, actually, the girl that introduced me to my current girlfriend. For some reason I thought we sounded really off but no one else agreed to that. Maybe it's because I was drunk. Someone stole our beer. We went to 1982 afterwards and continued drinking.
We woke up the next morning, had breakfast, and drove on to Tallahassee. We had Saturday night off, so I spent it hanging out with a bunch of friends. I saw my friends' band Friends of Friends play at Jake's Tavern which was great. It was my first time seeing them, but I'll see them again at Jennfest.
Woke up Sunday morning and went to work. It was slow. Got home, went to my girlfriend's house, which she just moved into, then went over to the venue to watch the 5 bands before us play. We went on and to my surprise there were still people there watching us. The previous bands gave us much props. It was the most fun I've had in a while. My brother is in town. Word.

Jacksonville, FL June 18th, 2010
So we played a show in Jacksonville last night and had much trouble making it over. One of the tires on the can popped which added at least an hour and a half to a two and a half hour trip. We finally made it into town after 10 pm and set up immediately. The Stillmen, who were already at the venue, were waiting for us so they can use our equipment. They played and it was great, we played and it was alright.
Afterwards Mike and I went to the bar across the street. It was either a gay bar or gay night, but either way I had a good time. I don't know when, but we're leaving for Gainesville at some point today to play there tonight. I'm looking forward to this one.

I wrote a new song today. The idea came to me as i was sitting in a recording studio while my dad was recording vocals. I thought of the first line and then starting writing away the lyrics into my phone. I got home and copied them to the computer and contiuned writing. Thoughts were coming to me like a flood. It was great. I had the same flood of ideas last night, but after I re-read what I wrote last night, i decided that it wasn't really good. Not even good enough to get ideas for what I wrote today. It's been a while since i've written something i've actually liked.
The idea was to get 4-6 songs together to record an EP in the summer. I'm at 7 now. I'm going to name the release Vas Y Viens. It means Come and Go in french. It seemed to me that the songs I have are based around the idea of life/death and being somewhat of a drifeter. As I was writing the last few lines in the last verse I realized that I had just written the title track. It was completely unintentional. I wanted to use every song I've written after the intial 6 for a split i wanna make with the Humdrums, but after realizing what I have written, I'd be a fool for not adding it to this project.
I hope all goes well with this. I've been battling myself trying to decide if I should do it or not. Half of me feels that it'll be a waste of time and money to make a solo release. I can't sing. Who will actually listen to this? Who will see me when I play shows? But i figured, fuck it, and i'm gonna keep thinking 'fuck it' until it comes time to record. Because once I start, I won't go back.
